    1. Hiroyuki Takei Takei Hiroyuki is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime Shaman King His brother, Hirofumi Takei is also a manga ka.

    2. I still believe no one could understand my love for Shaman King or have I not found the right place to fangirl about it yet. This series is just as old as me, born in 1998! I have never tried to read the manga before, it is my first manga ever and I wasn't disappointed. I finished it so fast and I loved it. I could still feel the tension in Yoh vs. Ren's fight, even if I already watched the anime several times and knew what was going to happen. Yoh's victory over Ren's is the end of volume 1. Th [...]

    3. Shaman King is one of those rare instances where the show is better than the manga. I worshiped the anime as a ten-year-old; I couldn't get enough of it. When I read the manga a few years later, however, I wasn't as moved. Manta (Morty in the show, a name playing off the word "mortician") takes a shortcut through a cemetery at night and meets Yoh, a shaman. The two inexplicably become friends and Manta follows Yoh on his adventures to become the shaman king. Unfortunately, what detracts from the [...]

    4. I remember when I first read this in that huge 'Shonen Jump' massive sized book of many anime series that started back in March 2003 and ended in August 2007.Man I used to fight with my brother over these darn things. But now I just buy the actual books. Curse you Half-Priced-Books for making this so easy!I love sassy Yoh. With his new buddy Admidamaru. The cute midget Manta.Bad Ass Wanna-be Ryu.Begin the world of Shaman King! WOOOO!

    5. 25 Aug 2016 :Katanya tamatnya (view spoiler)[rasa kentang ya? ^ p ^ (hide spoiler)]Aku belum baca sampai tamat sihGambar : 4.5 bintangtipe gambar yang aku suka! o(≧▽≦)o Seperti bulat-bulat gitu~Cerita : 4.5 bintangru khas komik cowok yang mungkin agak bisa diramalkan pake bola kristal, tapi aku suka~Suka banget sama tokoh-tokohnya juga, terutama si Manta (^ ω ^)_______05 Jun 2017 :Terbit ulang~ baca ulaangg~~ (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚Tadinya bingung karena yang terbit ulang versi tanko, dan [...]

    6. This was my favorite anime as a child. So I think it's more than appropriate to read it now that I've grown more comfortable with manga - reading in general. Well, I can say that manga aren't for everyone. You should like the way the story is presented to really enjoy this experience, but this one is a good place to start. It is not really particular regarding style or message, and is really funny. And about what happens I'm sure you've read the synopsis. If you haven't I advice you to go and [...]

    7. I used to be a huge fan of anime. But never of manga. Not until now.Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy anime but I am very very picky now.Manga was not my thing, not that I had tried reading one, to be honestI thought that they were boring, for some stupid reason.Guess what THEY ARE NOT!!! On the contrary, my first manga reading experience made me think that anime are boring! What the actual f?!?!?!?!I read this one in a sitting! I devoured it!!!It was brilliant, very funny, full of action and th [...]

    8. 65th book read in 2017.Number 626 out of 629 on my all time book list. By far the worst manga I have ever read.

    9. I've read the entire series but I'm too lazy to tag each one. I loved the storyline and the characters (Yoh, especially. Always have since I first saw the anime version. Always will!). The story had a heart; the artwork was nice. It's full of action with just enough dozes of comedy to break the monotony. I enjoyed it thoroughly and would have given it a 5-star rating if it weren't for the ending which was kind of meh. Shame really 'coz it was a fun and addictive read for my first ever shonen man [...]

    10. Shaman King is the first anime I ever watched and this happened to be the first manga I’ve read too. But in all honestly I didn’t enjoy this as much as the anime. Yoh is charming like always but I still think I’m used to watching him that it’s not the same but I still loved him a lot. The biggest problem is Manta in this manga because his reactions look so fake and the art where he shouts is just horrible. I enjoyed the parts which didn’t appear in the anime like saving children etc. b [...]

    12. Not horrible. I guess I'll read the next one. Manta is very annoying, though, and the chibi art used for him is borderline stupid, frankly. I like the idea of a shaman in Tokyo, and Amidamaru is a cool ghost. We'll see.

    13. SO HAPPY TO BE READING THIS SERIES AGAIN!!I read about 10 volumes back in 2012, but this time I'm planning on getting through the whole series. :)

    14. What would you do if you are taking a shortcut home and see a boy talking to a ghost and you realize you can see them too. Well that's how things went in the first few pages of Shaman King. After the first pages of these books I wa hooked. I love how the action comes so fast in the first book.I really like some of the quotes from these books. A few examples are "Everything will work out" and"don't be scared I got you." I know that manga's are not for everyone but if you like comedy, action and dr [...]

    16. Shaman King is a manga that I picked up while reading the monthly Shounen Jump growing up. It is one of the few titles that sparked my interest in manga as a whole and has special place in my heart. The series starts off rather comical at first but quickly shows that it has layers to the story and characters that I will not spoil for those who have not read the series. If you enjoy manga like Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragonball this is sort of a hybrid between the supernatural and tournament storylines a [...]

    17. The Shaman King by Hiroyuki Takei is an absolutely fascinating manga to read, and the first manga book I ever read, and it really gave me a good idea about manga in general. I like how the author started his "Shaman King" manga series and he definitely showed some effort making this bookVIEW TOO BE CONTINUED

    18. This was a lot of fun. It’s filled with action and silly humor by Manta who serves as the book’s comic relief. The artwork was good and the story is interesting. I think Yoh is a great character and his samurai companion Amidamaru is cool as hell. This looks to be an intriguing series and I’m definitely going to continue with it. This first volume of Shaman King is a good time.

    21. Shaman King is rated Teen and has not only conflict between shamans and their opponents but at times the ghosts in the story strike out against mortals as well so it might be to much for younger readers but it is a fun action comic if you decide to share anyway.Manta was your typical school student doing his best to excel in school even going to cram school but it let out late so now he has to hurry or he will miss the last train home. Knowing he can cut through the graveyard to get to the train [...]

    22. Shaman King follows the story of Yoh Asakura and his friends as they take part in the Shaman Tournament, an event that occurs but once every 500 years and brings either destiny or destruction in its wake.An intriguing story and a unique take on the idea of shamans, Hiroyuki Takei created a wonderful manga that is a great read and visually pleasing.I found myself drawn into the lives of the characters and interested in how things would progress and what would happen in the end. Those who have onl [...]

    23. Overall Rating: CSynopsis: is both an anime series and a manga series by Hiroyuki Takei. Apparently, the manga series ended at 32 volumes. The manga starts when Manta, a nerd, tries to take a shortcut through a cemetery. On the way through, Manta learns that he can see spirits and meets Yoh. Manta learns that Yoh is a shaman and that he can commune with ghosts. Yoh soon learns that he may be the Shaman King and that other shamans will challenge him for the title. 32 volumes is a lot of manga abo [...]

    24. 22 February 2013Shaman King, Vol. 1: A Shaman in Tokyo introduces Ritalin's poster child, Manta Oyamada, as he takes a life-changing shortcut through a cemetery and stumbles upon Yoh Asakura, shaman and friend of ghosts. Poor Manta's life is turned upside down as he reluctantly delves deeper into the spiritual world.Yoh is a laid-back thirteen-year-old, who just happens to be in Tokyo to advance his shaman training. He befriends loud-mouthed Manta and this peculiar pair have one adventure after [...]

    25. This was the book - this was the series that got me started reading manga. I hadn't had much experience with anime, and I didn't even know that manga was a thing when Shaman King first aired on Fox. (Hush, I know.)It was my first real taste of a story-driven anime, something other than the "bad-guy-of-the-week and eventually a final battle style" cartoon that I was used to. I *adored* the Shaman King anime. I fell for it hard.I fell for it so hard that for years, I had a Shaman King obsession. I [...]

    26. The series is enjoyable so far, but so far just a typical mystical quest/tournament with teen characters. Vol 2: I have to say, the inclusion of the deceased Bruce Lee in this volume was a rather amusing twist Vol: 13: not a fan of the inclusion of a descendant of Vlad Tepes and the X-Laws and the archangel "Metatron" is a bit much, lol. I feel like the author is just pulling in random Western mythology/theology to add nuance to, as I said, an otherwise typical manga. Ok, so between vol 14-23, [...]

    27. Shaman King is probably one of the best manga I've read in a long time, and definitely in my top ten favorite. The first volume basically just introduces you to a few main characters and gives you some background information on the world of shamans. A shaman is a person that can connect with a spirit who has not passed from this world. When a shaman allows a spirit to combine with them, they gain all of the spirits skills and abilities. The first volume doesn't give away much of what is to come [...]
